Uriel D. Rosado is a graduate of the Montessori Juana Sanchez public school in Juncos and a young man grateful for what Montessori philosophy taught him in life.

''I really liked that experience. Not only did I learn a lot I also learned things that will help me in more in my social life to be a better person, '' Uriel shared about his experience at the Montessori school.

Before coming to Juana Sánchez, Uriel studied Montessori philosophy  in homeschooling.  At the age of 7, his mother found out that the Juana Sanchez school would start with the Montessori philosophy and decided to enroll him.

In the middle of his transition, the most difficult thing he had to do was make friends, socialize and establish healthy relationships with his classmates. ''At that time my teacher was very patient with me, but she was also strict with me, so that I did not get out of the way. She was always talking to me and advising me, and she helped me see that what I was doing was wrong and as that process happened I became a better person. ''

One of the things he liked most about the philosophy was the freedom he had in the environment to move, learn and use materials. That is what Montessori offers, freedom of movement with limits and order to students. This freedom allows children to be spontaneous, to build their learning experience according to their interests and stages of development.

Recalling his days at the Montessori school, because today he studies at the Fine Arts school in Humacao, he told us that "those first years that I was in Montessori really were very important to me. If I hadn't gone through Montessori, right now as I said before I wouldn't be a good person’’.

About the future, Uriel wants to study engineering at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, this thanks to his passion for mathematics, physics, and innovation to make life better.

For him, the love for mathematics and physics is due to his education in Juana Sanchez, where he was taught in a way that he understood and liked, especially because they explained the why of things; that provoked in him a curiosity that distinguishes him.

The 14-year-old would tell a person who does not know about Montessori ''that when you are still young and easy to shape, is the ideal time to take Montessori. At that time Montessori specializes in making you curious so that you want to learn and train as a person, so that you can get along with people. ''

Uriel D. Rosado is a Face among the many students who have been able to enjoy a New School and education thanks to the Montessori philosophy in the country's public schools, which undoubtedly build a New Puerto Rico.
