Academic Program
The Academic Program seeks to train Montessori guides, assistants and directors who serve the children and youth of Puerto Rico. INE offers courses for the Certification of Montessori Guides at all educational levels: Infants and Toddlers, Early Childhood, Elementary I, Elementary II, Secondary I and School Director. It also offers the course for Assistants and the introductory course on Montessori Philosophy for support staff in Montessori public schools.
The INE is affiliated with the American Montessori Society (AMS) and accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) at the Infants and Toddlers, Early Childhood, Elementary I, Elementary II and Secondary I educational levels. While the course of Directors is affiliated with the AMS.
Montessori Certification
The academic phase of the courses is framed in the components of Montessori philosophy, methodology and curriculum offered by specialized personnel with vast experience in the Montessori public school. The facilitators of the Academic Program have their Montessori credential, with this learning process framed in a culture of respect and deep faith in the child and young person.

The Infant and Toddler Course offered is for teachers and caregivers who work with children from birth up to 3 years of age using the Montessori methodology and philosophy.

The Early Childhood course offers adult learners the experience of a rich environment prepared to meet the needs of this stage of development.

The Elementary I course prepares guides to serve children in the first half of the second level of development.

The Elementary II course prepares guides to serve children in the second half of the second plane of development.

The Secondary I course proposes the implementation of María Montessori's ideas about "Erdkinder" or "Children of the Earth".
