Secondary I

The Secondary I course (12-15 years) proposes the implementation of Maria Montessori's ideas on "Erdkinder" or "Children of the Earth." The guides are prepared to accompany adolescents, not only in their academic preparation for the world of work, but also in their integration as secure, sensitive, conscious and valuable members of the society that will welcome them. Throughout the training, they recognize the characteristics and needs of this stage, the physical, social and emotional environment they require, and the curriculum that accompanies them. The guides create their own curricular portfolios, based on the standards and expectations of the Department of Education, but responding to the characteristics and needs of young people. The connection with work, the community that needs them and the world that surrounds them are the pillars that underpin the curriculum that the guides of this level build to serve young people.
