Comerío Public Montessori project continues its transformation process

The Montessori Public project in the town of Comerío began in 2016. From the start, the community worked so that the project had continuity – that the boys and girls who started in Infants & Toddlers could attend elementary school, and reach high school within the Montessori methodology.

Today Comerío celebrates that it currently has three Montessori public schools: Inés María Mendoza, elementary, Luis Muñoz Marín, middle school, and Juana Colón, high school. These schools allow over 630 students to have access to Montessori.

There are many hands in Comerío that accompany the schools. Among these, the Juan Agosto Alicea Foundation, and Don Juan, its founder, who stands out as the great companion of this Montessori public education project.

The mayor, Josian Santiago Rivera, has been an important helping hand in the development of these schools. The mayor recognizes that these schools are in perfect harmony with his vision for the town.

The community of principals, faculty, and families, who have worked hard over the past six years, have been key to the optimal development of the schools. Their dedication and commitment have allowed the growth and transformation necessary to build a good school for everyone.

We celebrate Comerío, we celebrate the Montessori sister schools, the 50 communities that walk together on this journey of making good schools for our communities. And we celebrate all the hands that accompany this project in Puerto Rico.
