Footprints of Transformation
Since November we have been developing the “Footprints of Transformation” campaign, which consists of sharing the footprint that the Montessori public school project is leaving in three school communities that we serve.
The communities that have told their story are República del Perú in San Juan, Inés María Mendoza in Caimito and Jesús T. Piñero in Caguas. These stories are from guides (teachers), assistants, students, and mothers who are witnesses of the profound legacy that this project is leaving in their lives and in their community.
In its 16 years of service, INE has seen how communities are strengthened as a result of the School Transformation Model that accompanies them, which is composed of: Montessori philosophy and education, families and shared governance.
Hearing testimonies like that of student Ariannys, who shares that she likes her school because her teachers teach her calmly and with a lot of love, affirms our work as an organization.
Knowing that the Montessori education offered by the Academic Program (AP) has the guides so in love with and committed to their students is a great joy. It is wonderful to hear how it has transformed and marked their lives as human beings.
Today, INE is telling these stories so that more people know the mark that this educational project is leaving in Puerto Rico and support the desire of communities to have a public, accessible, and quality education. There are already 60 school communities that have opted for Montessori as a tool for social transformation, and every year more are joining the interest of being part of the Montessori public school project.
Every community, teacher, assistant, student, family has their story, and we would love for it to be heard. We call on you to take advantage of the means at your disposal, whether it be social media, WhatsApp, or in person; and tell how Montessori Público has impacted the life of your child, mother, father, husband, or yourself.
Good news deserves to be shared and heard. If you haven't had the opportunity to listen to the testimonies of two teachers from República del Perú or that of Inés María Mendoza in Caimito, we invite you to do so on our social networks or on our YouTube channel .
We will continue to share the testimony of other communities with the Montessori method and its impact and reach in them. So stay tuned to our digital platforms.
