Time to give thanks
We appreciate the volunteer hands
With the goal of serving the school communities, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (BPPR) joins the Instituto Nueva Escuela and invites its employees to do community work in the Montessori public schools. This work is part of the philosophy and organizational praxis of BPPR.
Since November 16 applications have been received online from BPPR employees interested in volunteering with us. So far seven of them have been trained in a general way in the Montessori philosophy and methodology, mission and vision of the New School Institute to serve six school communities.
Volunteers can contribute in three different areas:
administration
academic and social
beautification and enhancement of physical silver.
Neysha Murphy, joins the INE to carry out this volunteer project with the help of BPPR. She celebrates the arrival of citizens who want to contribute to the construction of a better Puerto Rico in the midst of difficult times, their arrival is like "turning on a new light." Thanks!
Today is International Volunteer Day, so we celebrate them and appreciate their effort and contribution to making the world a better place.
A hug.
We appreciate alliances with other organizations
This year we celebrate and thank the alliance with Para la Naturaleza, a non-profit organization that cares for the environment and our land, for the development of the project "Sembrando Regresamos" and ecological schools.
From six schools that started the seeding project, we have grown to 20! In addition to planting, Environmental Clubs are founded in schools and particular projects are established: nurseries, butterfly gardens, orchards and medicinal plants, and the development of awareness workshops on our relationship with nature.
The project began on Friday, August 27 with the first of four immersion workshops that Montessori guides who lead the project in their schools receive.
The 21st century school must include the theme of caring for the planet and the environment. PLN makes it possible for Montessori public schools to not only include these century themes present in their curriculum, but also provide living experiences of immersion in the environment.
School by school, together with allies such as Para La Naturaleza and Fundación Colibrí, which sponsors these educational projects, we “sow” in the generation that raises the necessary values for the development of an ecological culture in PR that results in the protection of our environment. environment and our humanity.
We thank and celebrate our Board of Directors and the newly created Board of Councilors who always give us a hand in advancing the mission and vision of the INE.
